I am writing concerning <Company's> support of Senator Rick Santorum's campaign.
Please feel free to use your own words and edit the text below. Federal Election Commission reports indicate that your company has contributed in the past to Senator Rick Santorum through your company PAC. As a mainstream voter working with other mainstream voters, I am writing to urge your company to stop contributing to Senator Santorum's re-election campaign. Rick Santorum is a longtime leader in the radical right's campaign to suppress scientific knowledge that conflicts with their ideological obsessions, regardless of the human cost of those actions. He has consistently worked to stop embryonic stem cell research, the kind of essential research that you are doing and need to continue. He has also voted for cuts in Medicaid for millions of people, which will affect their ability to buy essential drugs and medical supplies that you produce. Your financial support for his reelection campaign not only runs counter to the public interest but to your own as well. Rick Santorum's record shows that he is consistently, even proudly, out of step with mainstream Pennsylvanians, and indeed most Americans. Many mainstream Pennsylvanians and their New Jersey neighbors have made a commitment to returning Santorum's Senate seat to someone worthy of that office. We will be monitoring FEC reports over the next six quarters until the 2006 election, and will make sure that our fellow mainstream voters know which companies are on their side. We urge you to let your contributions speak for themselves.
