Oh, do I wish that the Obama administration were a "secular, socialist machine," as Newt Gingrich calls it ("Sarah Palin to address gathering of GOP faithful," Friday). Then, instead of a watered-down health-insurance reform to please the GOP and its lies and distortions, we would have a single-payer system.

Perhaps our nation would finally grant religious freedom and the right of freedom from religion and abolish the act of Congress that put the "In God we trust" motto on our money. Now, this would be a great "machine" running our country.
