Despite the lessons of Hurricane Katrina, George Bush continues to promote a culture of incompetence by nominating unqualified individuals to important positions.

In perhaps the most egregious example of this, President Bush has nominated Harriet Miers — a lawyer who has never served a day in her life as a judge — to the U.S. Supreme Court.

The Supreme Court is no place for on-the-job training. I urge everyone who feels the same way to write their senators and ask them to vote against the confirmation of Ms. Miers.
