To the Times:

Re: “Obama should make his birth records public” (Michael Shank, 9/25), it seems the “Birthers” are not yet finished making fools of themselves.

Perhaps next time they would investigate what Obama said at the Alfred E. Smith Memorial Foundation, “I was born on Krypton to save the planet earth.”

Yet, having exhausted false statements, such as “Obama is a communist,” “Obama is a Muslim,” “Obama was born in Kenya” or worse “Obama wants to kill your grandma,” the anti-Obama crowd remains full of venom.

I join former President Jimmy Carter in his belief that racism is an issue and that many people think Obama “should not be president because he happens to be African-American.”
