The majority of Americans support the premise that our health-care system should provide choices. President Obama wants to create another choice -- namely, an option to be in a public health-care plan.

Many economists believe such an option can reduce the cost of health-care insurance premiums 30 percent and drive down prices across the board.

I believe this is change that both Democrats and Republicans should support.
