To the Editor:

Brian Brown of the National Organization for Marriage was right in saying, when the Vermont Legislature backed gay marriage, that there was a “palpable sense that something has changed.” But when he said “it’s a bad day for the country,” I could not disagree more. Since when is equality for all bad for America?
