Atlantic City Press February 5, 2009 In two recent votes, our representative in Washington, who portrays himself as a defender of southern New Jersey's workers, voted twice to worsen their condition. The first, by voting against increasing the size of the window in which pay-discrimination suits may be filed by women (HR11). And the second, by voting against the bill that gives women the power to correct pay discrimination issues (HR12). Both bills passed anyway. Now that these bills are law, women will finally be able to fight for economic equality in the workplace. In today's society, many families need more than one income to survive while others have only one head of household. Studies show that increasing women's wages will also help reduce poverty, homelessness and hunger for both women and children. Frank LoBiondo, R-2nd, gets plenty of media coverage when it promotes his moderate image. So why did these two votes get none? Nick Reina Milmay
