The Press of Atlantic City November 14, 2008 When President Bush took office in 2001, he rescinded, before they could become permanent, more than 250 regulations President Clinton had put in place during the last two months of his presidency to protect consumers and the environment. That is why Bush has his administration working feverishly to protect a whole slew of new regulations that will be difficult for his successor to undo. The new regulations lift environmental constraints on power suppliers, mining, logging, agribusiness and fishing interests, to name a few. The result will be an increase in pollutants in the air we breathe and the water we drink, a negative impact on global warming and, consequently, the wildlife we use for feed and companionship. If you value your children and grandchildren, I urge you to contact your representative in Congress immediately to ask Bush to not soil our house. If Bush had half the class that John McCain displayed in his concession speech, he would listen. Nick Reina Milmay
