I read with interest the article about Franklin Township Mayor Brian Levine's stand on John Lynch. He's received quite a lot of press and accolades. Many Democrats also feel that what Lynch did was wrong, and that fact should not be ignored.
Levine's comment that he ex pects "there will be a rash of money coming in from those connected and friendly" to Lynch ig nores that fact that many Democrats would find this kind of money unacceptable.
As recently as six months ago, Franklin Democrats voted in a reform group that is leading the charge on redevelopment pay-to- play, open government and ethics reform in the township. Levine does a disservice to those Democrats who took a risk in fighting the entrenched Democratic organization to bring transparency to Franklin's government.
Whether intentional or not, the mayor's comment discounts the change that many worked so hard to bring about and takes an unwarranted jab at a group working diligently to continue the reform momentum begun six months ago.
