I respect your coverage of Rutgers coach Greg Schiano's pay and privileges and the July 23 editorial urging the university to be "honest about it with the public." In the face of news about the rising cost to students of a Rutgers education, still other numbers might sharpen the public's perspective:

Might you report on matters like any changes in average class- enrollment size and the ratio of temporary or adjunct teaching staff to long-term faculty members over the decade since I retired from full-time teaching on the New Brunswick campus? Perhaps the efforts devoted to a single athletic team, and its future showcase, deserve to be evaluated in relation to other possible university enterprises.
