Joe Sestak said, “This is not President Bush’s war, but our country’s war” (during the Town Meeting on Aug. 16), Sestak was wrong. This is George W. Bush’s war. Our brave soldiers are dying for Bush’s lies and the Bush administration is the real weapon of mass destruction responsible for the 3,898 U.S. deaths in Iraq with four more U.S. fatalities pending confirmation from the Department Of Defense, while Joe Sestak, D-7 of Edgmont, rejected calls for impeachment from the audience. The Bush administration has committed crimes beyond humanity, against Americans and against our Constitution, from the illegal war on Iraq, to the authorization of torture in Guantanamo and the illegal wiretapping of American citizens. How can anyone — Republican or Democrat — be proud to be American when accountability is being dismissed, when America impeaches a president for an affair with an intern but closes her eyes when real crimes are committed?
