This letter is in response to Ron Nash's letter "Global-warming theory a sham, just like N.J. legislation," dated Aug. 2. An examination of newspaper articles published on any given day will reveal that scientists regularly discuss global warming. They do not make public policy but rather they try to inform it. This is the reason that political activists are involved.

Mr. Nash should realize that shooting the messenger does not change the message. I did not find one idea in his letter that refutes the current thinking on global warming. I did find attacks on Al Gore, Hollywood and complaints about New Jersey taxes. I fail to see how that advances the debate on global warming.
