Armond Turiello has it wrong: TV weather reports have not become politicized. Rather, when meteorologists mention global warming, they are discussing a phenomenon validated by the scientific community and manifested in real-world events.
Global climate change has crossed the line from theory to reality. As we speak, the lives of Inuit peoples in Arctic regions, as well as animal species such as polar bears, find their very existences threatened by excessive warming of their climate.
The only ones who are politicizing this debate are the right-wing conservatives who don't want to address the threat of global warming, because to do so would lead to increased environmental regulations and reduced corporate profits for the coal and oil industries.
Weather reporters would be negligent in their jobs if they did not mention global warming.
Asking meteorologists not to discuss climate change would be like telling Wall Street analysts not to mention changes in the Dow Jones average.
