On September 24, 2005, members of the New Jersey Media Corps travelled to Washington, D.C. to take part in the Massive March, Rally & Festival to End the War in Iraq. The event was organized nationwide by United for Peace and Justice. Some of us travelled by train, some by car, and some via buses chartered by the Central Jersey Coalition Against Endless War. On August 18, 2005, members of the New Jersey Media Corps attended a vigil for Cindy Sheehan, mother of Casey Sheehan (killed in action in Iraq, 04/04/04), who is camped outside George W. Bush's ranch, waiting for Bush (who is on vacation) to meet here so she can demand the truth about the war in Iraq. The vigil was held in Bridgewater, NJ, and was also attended by members of the Middlesex County Democratic Meetup and Corzine Connection. For more information, please visit MeetWith Cindy.org. |
